Gomphus pulchellus

The Western Clubtail is so called because its distribution is indeed limited to Western Europe (Iberia, France, Germany and the Benelux). As with all species of the genus Gomphus its eyes are widely separated. Gomphus pulchellus is a smallish dragonfly. It's one of the yellowest gomphids in Europe; its thorax sports only the thinnest of black lines, while a yellow line covers all 10 segments of the abdomen dorsally. The male's abdomen is not club-shaped.
